‘We carry inside us the wonders we seek outside us’ Rumi, 13th century. Contemplative Camera delights in finding these images of wonder, captured in 1:1 detail.
Seeing the world through a macro lens often surprises me by picking up details that I am unable to see with my naked eye, or maybe miss, due to not paying sufficient attention! There is a tiny world to wonder at, from the dancing fronds of moss, to iridescent colours on butterfly/moth wings. I am constantly delighted by colour, pattern, and shape.
Appreciating the habitat that each needs to survive, brings with it a dawning realisation of the interconnectedness of all species. This led me to garden more intentionally for biodiversity, creating a white, fragrant bed of flowers for the moths.
It is great to be part of a learning community and contribute to citizen science projects through the British Trust for Ornithology, the RSPB, North Wales Wildlife Trust, Butterfly Conservation, and Cofnod (Welsh Record Site)
May you enjoy seeing the tiny details in these images and be inspired to pay attention and rejoice in the little things.
